The Department of Civil Engineering at ACE Engineering College was established in 2009 with the primary objective of addressing the growing demand for skilled civil engineers. Since its inception, the department has been committed to producing talented engineers who are ready to meet industry requirements. The present sanctioned intake for the Bachelor of Technology course is 60 students per year.

Historical Milestones

The history of civil engineering education in India is rich and dates back to the 19th century:
  • 1847: The first engineering college in India, named Thomson College of Civil Engineering, was established at Roorkee for the training of civil engineers.
  • 1854: The College of Engineering in Pune, initially known as The Poona Engineering Class and Mechanical School, was opened to provide suitable learning for subordinate officers in the Public Works Department.

Institution Accreditation

ACE Engineering College is an autonomous institution located in Ankushapur, Ghatkesar, Medchal, Hyderabad. It is approved by AICTE and affiliated to JNTUH. The college offers NBA accredited B.Tech courses in multiple disciplines, including Civil Engineering, and has been accorded an NAAC A-Grade with a score of 3.20.
